Actually, Galileo is not spinning in his grave, the rest of the universe is orbiting around him.

gmb - I do. And you can probably add Nicolaus Copernicus to that list, too, though he was less overt about his ideas about astronomy. According to the Wikipedia entry, he was "a loyal subject of the Catholic Prince-Bishops and the Catholic Polish King."

It's not a credibility enhancer. Is Karl Rove doing work for them now?

Sorghum: Oh, you are so right.
Spartacus: I'm guessing Copernicus didn't really have many options, but I bet he's smiling down from heaven too.
JDM: Maybe the church is desperate for members and is reaching out to the UFO crowd. You know, the people who claimed that they were abducted and probed by aliens? Just saying. GMB

The vatican needs to first unplug from the Matrix. Then we can serious.

Oh Morse, there is a world of stuff the Vatican has to do. Unplugging from the Matrix is but one small item. GMB

"The Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory,"

Didn't Father Guido Sarduccci work there too?

Mr. DeBakey: I think Father Sarducci worked in outreach to increase membership in the vocation, but I could be wrong. GMB
