The Vatican has a chief astronomer?
Vatican: It's OK to believe in aliens. Actually, when you think about it, the Vatican is being consistent. That said, does anyone else think that Galileo is spinning in his grave?

Actually, Galileo is not spinning in his grave, the rest of the universe is orbiting around him.

gmb - I do. And you can probably add Nicolaus Copernicus to that list, too, though he was less overt about his ideas about astronomy. According to the Wikipedia entry, he was "a loyal subject of the Catholic Prince-Bishops and the Catholic Polish King."
