Republican Senator Ted Stevens found guilty of all seven felony charges for making false statements. Yep, that evil old bastard was found guilty on all counts. And yes, I can't see how he escapes jail either. Reap what ye sow, Ted.

Yeah.. justice is served. But somehow I don't see him getting shanked in the joint like it's some episode of Oz.

Spartacus: I'll be surprised if that evil old fart serves a day in prison. Remember, W is on the way out. Watch as he pardons that piece of shit and every other filthy republican politician and official. Stevens knows the fix is in. He's not worried. God I hate them all. GMB

Pardon me?

It's obvious how he'll escape jail.
Through a series of "Toobs."

Sorghum: You know it's coming. Filthy bastards. Unless, of course, he dissed W at some time. Crossing my fingers.
Fairlane: It's so obvious, no? GMB

That comment by GMB is splendid foresight ! Never even crossed my mind !
I think Stevens must have pissed somebody off bigtime.

Joe: I recall hearing that Stevens isn't exactly a favorite in the senate, so it is possible that he pissed off W some way. I sure hope so. Imagine how offensive it would be to see that evil old bastard laugh at us if W pardons him. GMB

I fear he won't serve a day in jail. His lawyers will give some lame-ass "he's too old and frail!" excuse.
Posted by: dguzman | October 30, 2008 at 12:32 PM
dguzman: The problem is that there was a wiretapped conversation where the guy who was bribing him expressed concern about getting caught and Stevens said something along the lines of "so we'll have to pay a fine and do some community service." You think the sentencing judge isn't going to think about that? That said, unless he pissed off W, he gets pardoned. GMB
