Olson, Boies Unite to Fight Calif. Same-Sex Marriage Ban in Federal Court. Olson, as in "longtime conservative lawyer Theodore Olson." You know, the asshole who argued for Bush in Bush v. Gore. And you are right, David Boies argued the case for Gore. No, I can't figure it out either. Unless Ted realized that he's getting older and he wants to have something in his hip pocket when he meets St. Peter at the pearly gates. Or maybe he he has a gay kid? Because I read the article and Olson says the right things, and those are the only two theories that make any damn sense.
It's an odd couple. Plus I've never read Olson writing or saying anything that suggested he's very bright. Tough fit for him. No reason not to try it now, though. The vox pop is with us, gays and their families and friends got money, some power - a good demographic even for the SCOTUS whores. May as well see if the Equal Protection means what it says, because in the present circumstances, it doesn't mean dick, anyway.

JDM: Agree with it all. But I must disagree with your read on Olson. He is an equal protection scholar. Wasn't that an argument in Bush v. Gore? The concern, naturally, being about Bush getting to win rather than protection of Florida citizenz' right to vote. But of course. GMB

Closet case. Mark my words.

Well, he is a straight republiKKKan married male, so he doesn't like women and he likes to have sex with men. Some have called that gay.

Fran: That's one apt word.
dguzman: A distinct possibility, but one I'd rather not embrace.
JDM: Nah, being gay is accepting what you are and trying to have a nice life with another lad or chick of similar bent. What the republican closet cases are is something entirely different. Probably do to their meanness and self-loathing. GMB
