Looks like Harry Reid just ran out of excuses:

Franken declared Senate winner, Coleman concedes. Al Franken is the 60th democratic senator. No doubt Harry is not pleased that he can no longer claim that he is unable to get a fucking thing done without 60 democratic votes. Then again, the real number always was 51. You see, Harry et al. whined about needing 60 votes to defeat republican filibusters, but that was always a ruse to get the base enthused to vote for democrats while having a ready made excuse for not delivering the goods. Well, Harry, your excuse is gone. Good fucking luck.

Harry needs more than luck or excuses. A brain would be a start. They gave him the miserable job as the Minority Leader and got stuck with him as the Leader when they took control.. They could use some one who at least knows the Senate rules.

JDM: Well, I recall the republicans bitching about Franken and saying that he couldn't be seated until all this litigation was done and Reid happily went along. He didn't even try to fight them. I hope Franken has Reid in his sites, because Franken can get camera time by simply asking. GMB

These assholes don't realize that the masses are increasingly short on patience. The punted after 2006 and still were rewarded in 2008. If they think this will hold in 2010, they are mistaken. dguzman: Why don't the senate democrats get rid of Harry then? Because the majority of them like him giving him cover. That's my guess. Enough with the 60 votes. Make the fucking republicans filibuster for real. And while they are reading the phone book on the senate floor, the democratic senators should be on every cable and network show decrying them and raising stories about real Americans who have been screwed by the insurance companies.
