Denmark finds 1st case of H1N1 resistance to Tamiflu. the article has assuring language from the WHO that this isolated case doesn't pose a threat to public health or change recommendations for the use of Tamiflu. That said, the swine flu still exists and, fortunately, has the WHO's attention. This winter will be telling.
I'm looking for the (second) Great Influenza.

JDM: It could be coming. The advantage we have is better drugs and screening for those who are affected and better communications that could help to impose early quarantine. It's something. GMB

You're right GMB. It's usually in the colder months when people spend more time indoors that viruses such as these spread much more quickly.

Spartacus: Everything I've read said that health authorities are concerned about this coming winter. Apparently when the 1918 "Great" influenza hit, it started out fairly mild, but then made an ugly turn the first winter after onset. Hope we don't follow that model.
dguzman: Hey, now that I take the subway to work (used to have a 7 minute walk...sigh), first thing I do when I get into the office and at home is wash my hands. Little things make a difference. GMB
