Italy PM 'offered escort EU seat'. And why the hell not? I mean why should he have offered the European Parliament seat to a greasy politician who would do anything for money (like most of our members of Congress), when he could offer the seat to a true professional instead?

JDM: I believe that there were rumors that Berlusconi got in the way W did in 2000 and 2004. Also, Italians don't want a totally efficient government, if you get my drift. At least that's what I've been told.
Reamus: No doubt he owes Pfizer a huge debt of gratitude. I hope his soon-to-be ex-wife cleans him out. Given how rich he is (owns a lot of the tv/print assets in Italy), she probably will barely make a dent.
