Just like most lawyers, particularly the Big Firm Assholes. Even the second set, the self deluding dweeb thief murderers, are pushing too hard, not leaving us room. Fucking shoot 'em all.

JDM: Someone should tell them to read about the French Revolution. Probably don't have time between screwing over the average man and playing with their blackberries. Oh well. As my friend John is fond of saying: we will always have the element of surprise. There's that. GMB

I had read the second part of the quote, but not the Jesus part. I'm not sure why people care what a long dead cult leader said, but the bankster certainly misinterprets the Bible quote.

Ever wonder why there's a SOUTHERN Baptist Convention? They split with the northern Baptists in 1845 over the issue of slavery, WHICH IS IN THE BIBLE AND THEREFORE IT'S OK!
To their credit by 1995 (that's 1995, not 1895) they had had a change of heart and renounced slavery.
l believe James Dobson and Focus on the Family still support the biblical view that's it's OK to kill your kid if he mouths off to you (but you must first try to beat and whip him into submission).
There's a wonderful story in Dobson's book The Strong Willed Child, where he recounts beating the shit out of his 12-pound dachshund with his belt because it wouldn't sleep where it was supposed to in its doggie bed.
Dobson himself was an abused child so I think we can assume from that that the parents of Goldman execs are all thieves and robbers.

libhomo: I agree with you. As for the misinterpretation...he knows he won't be called on it. Money is power.
bowtiejack: We need to give this country a high colonic to get all the stale old shit out once and for all. Dobson, Wall Street assholes, the whole fucking bunch. GMB

This guy has clearly never cracked a Bible. Still, it's hard to believe he hasn't heard "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God" at some point. Or the fun story about Jesus driving the money-changers out of the temple with a whip.

P.S. It's interesting to me that he gave this spiel in St. Paul's. It's located right in the heart of the City of London, the "square mile" financial district which is the equivalent of NYC's Wall Street area.
St. Paul's is certainly one of London's great architectural monuments, but it really feels like a temple to the wealth and power of the ascendant British Empire (it was completed in 1708).
When I visited London a year ago, I was struck by the contrast between the otherworldly, shadowy gothic stonework of Westminster Abbey, and the ostentatious, triumphalist, massively oversized St. Paul's. It is a church built to celebrate earthly success.

Maximus: He knows enough to mangle while in a church surrounded by familiars who were unlikely to attack him. And you are so right about St. Paul's. Notice that he didn't say this at a local parish church in front of regular parishioners. GMB

i guess because both goldman and sachs were jewish it somehow justifies it...... these people really have no shame - they really think they are untouchable

DCap: I'm guessing that greedy fucking douchebag Brian Griffiths is jewish. Greed has no religion (although religion seems to feed it), race, sex, etc. Goldman, however, seems to be a magnet for sociopaths. Time to follow Hercules example and divert the Hudson (and Thames...take that Griffiths). GMB
