Panetta says Israel could strike Iran in spring: report. Iran is not Iraq, and the illegal invasion of Iraq was bad enough. If the U.S. via Obama joins in, then it's time to move, because we will surely deserve what follows. This is beyond nuts. This is evil.

My understanding is that the Chinese have some interest in the oil too. And I can't believe any European nation would join in. That said, given how Rahm Emmanuel--who served in the Israeli army--was integral to Obama's team, I worry. Still, this is so nutty and destructive that I have to--ok, I want to--believe that it is sabre rattling and someone sane will prevail.

I agree, Max. The problem is that the Israeli gov't is nuts, the Likkudniks are nuts and how many people are really paying attention? Each time "they" claim the Iranians are closer. I don't know how it plays out, but I know this--an attack would be evil and disastrous, whoever does it. How could an attack not fuel WWIII? GMB

MDC: It's such bullshit. From what I've read, Israel has about 20 nukes, we have god knows how many thousand (6,000 or 9,000), Russia, the same as us, and China, France, India and fucking Pakistan. Shit, N. Korea, the epitome of a failed state, kinda has two. Of course Iran wants a bomb, with Israel to the left, Pakistan nearby, etc., who teh fuck wouldn't? I mean, would anyone take N.
