Documents show NYPD infiltrated liberal groups. Despite what many current politicians believe--Obama included--the Bill of Rights isn't a suggestion, it's the fucking law. Between the early start to a horrible allergy season and the continuing erosion of our constitutional rights, Iceland is looking better and better with each passing day.
Call me naive, but I was a little surprised and dismayed by the shrug of shoulders and oh well, that's just the way it is attitude of the commenters on my blog when I've written about things like Trayvon Martin.
This is an outrage. Are people fatigued by it? I don't know. But just accepting it as reality and pretending it's okay doesn't seem like our best way to deal with it.

Lisa: No one I know shrugged their shoulders. My friends are as outraged as you are. It's easy to get outrage fatugued with the financial theft by Wall Street--how many times can someone write about Goldman Sachs stealing in another creative way before people stop paying attention--but Trayvon Martin was killed in cold blood by some asshole with a chip on his shoulder and a need for a life in prison. Anything less than a murder prosecution is a fucking injustice. I have saved enough money for a down payment on an apartment, but I am not even looking now. I like to think that my little nest egg could help me escape this place if need be. It bothers me that too many people do shrug their shoulders. I'm willing to fight, but I will not be a martyr. GMB
