Gay marriage to be introduced in Scotland. Naturally, this march towards enlightenment is being "strongly opposed" by the Church of Scotland and, get this, the catholic church. Said some asshole catholic spokeswhore:
The Scottish government is embarking on a dangerous social experiment on a massive scale.
We strongly suspect that time will show the Church to have been completely correct in explaining that same-sex sexual relationships are detrimental to any love expressed within profound friendships.
You mean in the same way that the church was completely correct to hide pedophiles, motherfucker? Honestly, whenever the catholic church makes an objection about anything on moral grounds, the statement should be accompanied by a laugh track.
I heard an interview on "Fresh Air" today with the bishop who has been put in charge of monitoring American Catholic nuns and getting them to adhere to what the bishops see as Catholic doctrine. He was intelligent, smooth, pompous and clueless about his own sense of privilege and rectitude. Ugh.

antoniomo: I was told by someone who knows one of the principle plantiffs witnesses against the church--a former priest who brought the pedophile scandal out in the open decades ago--that more than anything, most cardinals and bishops are the world's biggest blockheads. Asslicking C- students who do what they have to to get ahead. That explains a lot. GMB

Bout time some Presbyterians somewhere did the right thing on gay marriage. Maybe now they can ordain gay ministers, deacons and elders.

JDM: If they pass this, they will be the first in the UK...then they can leave the UK in 2016, kick the filthy thieving "nobles" off of the land they stole during the clearances, and be fabulous. GMB
