News Corporation posts $1.6bn loss as phone-hacking legal fees stack up. And that's just the legal fees, wait until all the hacking victims find out they were hacked and file suit. I mean, the settlements are going to hurt too, as will the fees and fines if there are criminal investigations and prosecutions here and in the UK against the corporation, its officers, and board of directors (it's been hinted at in the UK). Finally, I don't think that the split of the entertainment assets (where the money is or will be) from the news/publishing assets (where the liability resides) will shield those assets in the event that the big bills come rolling in. A little too late, I think. We shall see. I just want to see News Corp bloodied and the Murdochs forced out.
