Julian Assange: Ecuador grants Wikileaks founder asylum. Will the UK violate international law to do a favor for its American master? And for those who doubt that the charges against ASsange, and the UK's role in the whole filthy matter, have nothing to do with the US wanting to completely silence Assange, Wikileaks, and any others who would dare do the same thing, then tell me that you really believe the UK government would do the following in order to secure someone for extradiciton who was accused of sexual assault in Sweden: The UK Foreign Office had warned, in a note, that it could lift the embassy's diplomatic status to fulfil a "legal obligation" to extradite the 41-year-old by using the Diplomatic and Consular Premises Act 1987.
The news is, the Embassy has been stormed by British police who took Assange.
Yeah....so much for keeping calm and doing the right thing.

Labrys: I do not see that anywhere. That would be a huge breach of international law. Cite please. GMB

It is amazing to me that the entire diplomatic aperatus of the United States could be calling in it's chips and potentially our "best friend in the world" could overturn centuries of diplomatic protocol and laws to deliver said person (ultimately) to the US for a kangaroo trial and summary execution (if not indeed a drone strike outside of the US) -- and at the same time, the US Attorneys General cannot find enough evidence to bring so much as a single one of the muther fuckers who bankrupted this country to trial. John Corzine is really going to get away with it?
Amazing.

Very well said, Tengrain. This is why I believe Obama is a bigger monster than W. He knows what he is doing and he lied when he ran for office the first time, and now, of course. Filthy goddamn liar. Corzine should be in jail for the rest of his life. Meanwhile, Don Siegelman will be going to jail and no one rational knows why, except that Karl Rove needed him out of Alabama. Something has to give. If it doesnt, I may just pick up and leave. I don't mind fighting, but only if others are willing to fight too. Too many people in this country shrug their shoulders and accept this bullshit. Just once, I want to live somewhere with people who walk the walk and stand up to corruption. Just once. Oh, and the Icelanders did it (that's for those who demand to know one group of people who actually have a fucking backbone). GMB
