Why I love Howard Dean:

Dems will win House and Senate in 2006, By Howard Dean. Writing in The Hill, Dean states: 2005 has been a good year for Democrats. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has trained and hired local organizers on the ground in 49 states. These organizers are critical to our victories in 2006 and beyond.

We’ve shattered the 2001 post-presidential-year fundraising record, despite not being able to collect soft money. Through our grassroots Democracy Bonds program, we’ve doubled the number of monthly givers to the DNC.

Our leaders in the House and Senate stuck together on issues such as fiscal responsibility and Social Security, and they continue to pressure the administration for the truth about manipulating prewar intelligence, sending a strong message that Democrats will fight for what is right.

And for the first time in recent memory, the DNC, the Democratic House and Senate leadership and Democratic mayors and governors are sitting at the same table to create policies and strategies for restoring honest government and fiscal responsibility to America.

Howard Dean, our Garibaldi.

Why I support

Howard Dean. The link is to a diary at Daily Kos by Joe Rospars which highlights an e-mail sent by Howard Dean a short while ago (I just got my e-mail from Dean a minute ago). Howard Dean writes: [H]ow will we win any battle if we don't stand up for what we believe and speak the truth? More importantly, how will Americans know what to expect from a Democratic Congress and Democratic president if we don't fight for our values at every opportunity?

Democrats can disagree with Democrats in good faith -- and many do on this issue. But when political calculations silence our conscience, we have abandoned our true values. We cannot let that happen.

Dean absolutely gets it and the senate democrats had better listen up. The only reason I haven't reregistered as an independent--and trust me, I've been thinking seriously about doing it--is because Howard Dean's vision of the democratic party just rings true. I know it is a long shot, but I keep hoping he can be drafted as the democratic candidate for president in 2008. At the minimum, I want to hear him continue to speak, loudly, for the members of the DNC who are feeling increasingly disenfranchised by senate democrats, and other democratic politicians, who are seemingly unable or unwilling to be the opposition party. Thank you Dr. Dean.

Why do I support Howard Dean and

wish that he had won the Democratic Nomination for the 2004 presidential election? This is why. Theledger.com reports: Race was a factor in the rising death toll from Hurricane Katrina, Howard Dean told members of the National Baptist Convention of America on Wednesday at the group's annual meeting.

Dean, Democratic party chairman, made the comments to the Baptists' Political and Social Justice Commission. The Baptist Convention has an estimated 3.5 million members representing 3,000 churches and is one of the largest black religious groups in the country.

"We must ... come to terms with the ugly truth that skin color, age and economics played a deadly role in who survived and who did not," Dean said.

Damn straight it was. This--2008 democratic presidential nominee hopefuls--is how a true democrat responds to this administration's fucked-up response to Hurricane Katrina. Enough with the goddamned spin. Stop the "slick" presentations and the obsessive poll watching. Reach deep down and embrace your outrage. And if you can't fucking find it, do not run.

Dean takes fire from Republicans,

won't back down. Apparently Nancy Pelosi (wtf?) and Sen. Ben Nelson (quisling, Nebraska--here's a fun fact, this fucker voted to confirm Janice Rogers Brown) have joined Bill Richardson (smarmy presidential wannabe) and Joe Biden (self-serving asshole, Delaware) in attacking Howard Dean because Dean has a pair.

The most important part of the story? The last three words of the headline: won't back down. About fucking time. Kick some ass Howard.

Update: Time to put our money where our mouths are. Atrios has recommended that those of us who are happy with Dean's performance and appalled by quisling democrats and various media assholes who are attacking him make a donation to the DNC to show our support. I just threw them $25.

Yep, Iraq will be

a piece of cake, just like the adminstration thought it would be. Let's see....the Sunni resent loss of privilege, Shiites make up the majority and the Kurds would do well on their own, but Kurdish autonomy will anger Turkey and Iran. Oh yes, this should be easy.

Euro is higher, blah, blah

blah. Too underwhelmed to link the euro to dollar conversion page, so trust me, the euro = $1.24. Why is the dollar continuing to slip? I thought the rest of the world loved to buy dollars.

Taco Bell ad creator joins

president's (sic) media team. "New members [to W's team] include Vada Hill, who worked for Taco Bell and was credited with creating the talking-Chihuahua ad campaign." Speaks for itself.

Ted Rall suggests a good plan to

focus the democratic party. I must note that I disagree with Rall's opinion of Ralph Nader. Nader lost his credibility when he said that there was no difference between Gore and Bush in 2000. I think that he has become a delusional, self-promoting whore.

It's official!

Gore endoreses Dean. Apparently Joe Lieberman is pissed. Blow me Joe.

Want a glimpse of the scary future

should that asshole currently in the white house actually win or otherwise stay put. Know any teenage boys you'd like to see live to see their 30th birthday?

I don't always agree 100% with Ted Rall,

but article is well worth the read.

Surely you've all heard the

"Dean is unelectable" meme. Well, this cartoon captures the meme creators and minders perfectly. Go Dean!
