I can't believe it's not a democracy!

Wow, you know you must be an evil rank piece of shit, when

an organization that manages assets for Catholic institutions worldwide thinks that you incapable of proper corporate governance: Rupert Murdoch must step down as News Corporation chair – shareholders.

It's not just about the cell phone hacking:

Sun deputy editor charged over alleged payments to public officials. Nor is it just about the defunct "News of the World," because the hedline makes it clear that this hack editor worked for another of Reupert Murdoch's filthy fucking rags, The (soon-to-be defunct?) Sun. I mean bribing public officials, surely that has to be a bit higher in the criminal pyramid than hacking Sienna Miller's cell phone, right?

I hope this finally breaks that old bastard's back:

Phone hacking: Rupert Murdoch hit by 600 fresh claims. The Guardian reports: Sources say Scotland Yard detectives believe they can identify as many as 600 new incidents after obtaining the phone records of an insider who is now being lined up as a crown witness. As a result of the new information, the force's Operation Weeting is recalibrating the timetable for concluding its investigation, which had been due to be completed with the conclusion of trials this year. Police now expect their work to continue into 2015.

Between the legal fees and the settlement costs, and in light of Murdoch's spin off of the "news" bit of News Corp. from the entertainment assets, I'm guessing that filthy old piece of shit understands that part of his biz may go boom. Now the question is whether the spin off actually protects the entertainment assets. I'd like to believe those assets can be tapped to make victims whole. We shall see. That said, I guess I should say something nice about the old fucker. Hmmm, oh yes, click the link and look at the photo. His stylist choose a nice shade of lip gloss, no?

More arreststs, good, but baby wants to see some convictions soon:

Six more former News of the World whores get unhappy knock at the door: Phone hacking: two current Sun staff among six new arrests. Note that two of the formers currently work in editorial positions at the Sun, and, more importantly, the arrests come from a "new line of inquiry." Excellent. Now we need to see Andy Coulson and Rebekah Brooks convicted and sentenced (throw the book at them, m'lord!), and the computer hacking investigation needs some bodies, too. With these arrests, there will only be even more law suits by victims, more legal fees for the filthy fucking Murdoch family. Not bad.

I wonder which whore is his favorite:

George Osborne and Rupert Murdoch enjoyed private dinner in Mayfair; Boris Johnson and some actor among those who attended recent event at the media mogul's apartment. I'm guessing it's Boris Johnson, because he looks like the kind of lad who would do anything to get just an inch ahead. It's obvious that he's spent a lot of time creating his upper class twit image, but like many social-climbing wannabes, he tries just a little too hard.

The new year is just two and one half hours away...

I hope that it is a healthy and happy one for us all.  To that end, I'm going to limit the amount of time I spend reading about politics.  It's all bullshit--politics is always peopled with the same sort of whores (and a handful of people who actually care), and they always are willing to do whatever their rich masters want.  So I will still surf and read your blogs, of course, because I want to keep informed enough.  But I plan on spending more time reading and getting to learn the classical guitar.  Going to do more cooking too.  

So, anyone else considering some changes for 2013?

There can be no way these two avoid jail time:

Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson to face fresh charges. And the new charges involve payment of bribes to public officials--that's a step up from approving the hacking of Sienna Miller's cell phone, don't you think? I suppose that these two could somehow avoid the slammer, but I get the sense that Coulson (David Cameron's former Communications Director) and Brooks have shat on too many people, violated too many laws, and laughed in the face of justice too many times. I suppose they thought they were invincible at one time. Sentencing is going to suck. For them. I, on the other hand, will enjoy it (as long as they don't get wrist slaps).

Oh, The Guardian also ran the following story: News Corp exposed to growing legal threat following charges for tabloid duo -- Charges for Brooks and Coulson raise prospect that News Corp could be prosecuted under US anti-bribery laws. I wouldn't hold my breath. Eric Holder is too busy busting cancer patients using medical marijuana to bother with this. But once he's done making life miserable for those with cancer diagnoses, I'm sure he'll be right on this. Then he'll tackle the criminals on Wall Street who triggered the financial crisis. Pronto!

Drip, drip, drip:

News International, the owner of The Sun and The Times newspapers, could face corporate corruption charges over alleged bribery of public officials, it has emerged. Looks like the prosecutors are putting pressure on the more than 20 Sun journalists--not News of the World journos--who have been arrested as part of Operation Elveden. Corruptions charges are not quite the same as listening in to Sienna Miller's voice mail, now is it?

If Obama doesn't win tonight, then the republicans will have stolen another election. But I think the margins are too big to steal--not that they wouldn't try, but really, then it would be "let's burn this motherfucker down" time.  Still, the media act like it's a horse race, so it must be close, right?  A: If your industry makes a shitload of money in a presidential election year only if it's a horse race, then the presidential election is always going to be a horse race.  Every.  Fucking.  Time.  

Really. Turn off the tv and starve the beast.

Update: Woo-hoo....$20 richer!  Now let's watch as the democratic base holds Obama's feet to the fire and makes sure he doesn't fuck with social security and medicare.  No really, they had better fucking do that after promising they would--and implying that it could work--for four years.

Now I'm not schooled in the intricacies of British criminal law, but breaking into a member of parliament's house to get dirt on them, that sounds likes the kind of crime that buys the perpetrator--and those that paid him to do it--real time.
