Now we need to see Andy Coulson and Rebekah Brooks convicted and sentenced (throw the book at them, m'lord!), and the computer hacking investigation needs some bodies, too. With these arrests, there will only be even more law suits by victims, more legal fees for the filthy fucking Murdoch family. Not bad.

David Petraeus resigns from his position as head of CIA, citing "extremely poor judgment" over extramarital affair. He was promoted for exercising poor judgment with regard to Iraq and Afghanistan, but I guess no one was making any money from Patraeus playing hide the salami with some underling. Or maybe someone wanted him out and finally got their way? I mean the timing is interesting.

Silvio Berlusconi sentenced for tax fraud. Ok, his four-year sentence was reduced to one-year in jail because of some fucking amnesty law, but this filthy asshole might finally serve jail time. Yeah, he should die in jail, but in a world were Pres. Obama calls Lloyd Blankfein and Jamie Dimon "savvy businessmen," I'll take whatever I can.

Keep in mind that this guy was accepted into the NY police academy and graduated:

Moonies founder the Rev Sun Myung Moon dies in South Korea at 92. Self-proclaimed messiah who formed own church and presided over mass weddings leaves behind huge business empire. But I assume his followers will spend the rest of their miserable lives praying for him to come back or something. Man, religion has to be the easiest get quick rich scam in the world. All you have to do is get the gullible to accept your lie and you get to take their money tax free--it doesn't get easier than that.

I'm sure she'll make lots of new friends in prison:

Rebekah Brooks to be charged with perverting the course of justice. Apparently this is the kind of crime that can bring real time in jail in the UK--I believe it is a destruction of evidence charge. I recall reading that her husband, also charged, was seen trying to dispose of a briefcase in a dumpster (getting rid of hard drives, I believe). Oh dear. Courts hate that sort of thing. And yes, I am as happy as a lark, but not nearly as happy as I will be when she is given a harsh sentence. The only way to slow down the future sociopaths is by punishing the current ones severely.

Update: I was right: Perversion charge related to a bag Brooks' husband attempted to reclaim. The Christian Science Monitor reported that the incident involved a "bag was discovered in a garage dumpster under a gated community where Brooks owns an apartment. After community security handed the bag over to police, Brooks's husband attempted to reclaim the bag, saying that it had been mistakenly thrown away by cleaners." Yes, cleaners mistaken threw away a bag containing "a laptop computer, mobile phone and private papers." I assume Rebekah was relunctant to dispose of the incriminating evidence earlier, just in case Rupert was able to stave off justice and she needed weapons to use against future victims. I hope her fall from grace is complete and she is soon joined by the Murdochs, father and son.
